The Donetsk Regional State Administration announces with deep sorrow that on May 18, 2026, at the age of 76, Konstantin Kurkchi passed away—an outstanding figure, Honored Metallurgist of Ukraine, Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the Mariupol Metallurgical Plant, a member of the Council of the Federation of Greek Societies of Ukraine, a deputy of the Mariupol City Council, a member of the Executive Committee of the Sartana Village Council, and an Honorary Resident of the villages of Staryi Krym and Sartana.
High professionalism and active civic engagement—these are the qualities remembered by everyone who knew Konstantin Semenovich personally. A man of his word, responsible, reliable, and compassionate.
He was always quick to help, support, and find solutions. For the Sartana community, he was a builder, patron, leader, and mentor; for his friends, a role model; and for his colleagues, an authority.
The bright memory of Konstantin Semenovich will live on in the hearts of those who had the honor of working alongside him, knowing him personally, and drawing inspiration from his approach to life.
May he rest in peace and enter the Kingdom of Heaven…
