In the modern world, issues of ecology and caring for the environment are not just relevant, but vitally necessary. That is why the streets of the city of Dnipro, as well as the online space, became a platform for the information and educational campaign "Sort Waste — Save the Earth!", which was initiated by the team of the project "ECOstart is possible for everyone!". The campaign was implemented within the framework of the "DIY Community" mini-grant competition, which is held within the framework of the UNICEF program in the Donetsk region. The partner of the initiative was the public organization "Charivni Runy".
During the event, activists distributed thematic leaflets, held meaningful conversations with city residents, and gave useful advice on waste sorting. Particular attention was paid to everyday habits that everyone can change today for the benefit of the environment: instead of disposable bags - shoppers, instead of plastic bottles - reusable thermoses.
Young people from the Mariupol district, in particular the Nikolsk territorial community, became the main audience of the event. The main message that the team sought to convey was a simple and clear appeal: "My own shopper and thermos today - will save the planet tomorrow!"
In addition to the information part, the youth initiative has gained practical continuation - sorting tanks for energy-intensive waste, such as plastic and paper, have been installed in the social hostel "YaMariupol". This step will ensure the sustainability of the ecological idea, which is already bringing real changes to the life of the community.
