The “White Angels” rescued five people from the Kramatorsk community using a damaged car.
A blind man, a 90-year-old woman, and three other female residents of the community are now safe. To save people, police officers risk their own lives every day.
An enemy FPV drone struck the rear of the vehicle as the “White Angels” team was heading out on an evacuation mission. The crew was unharmed. Despite the car being battered by debris, the police officers managed to reach everyone who needed help.
From Kramatorsk, the “White Angels” evacuated 90-year-old Tamara Pavlovna, who can only get around with a walker. The woman was carried out of the second floor in the officers’ arms.
Another person rescued was 73-year-old Lyubov, who is leaving with her dog. The building where her apartment is located, like all the neighboring ones, has been damaged by shelling and burned down. The resident says she has relatives in Russia but does not want to go to the Russians.
“I’m shaken by what they’ve done to us. Why did you come here? What did we do to you?” the woman says, unable to hold back her emotions.
From Ivanivka, a police crew evacuated a man with visual impairments, and from Krasnotorka—two women who had been surviving the bombings without electricity or water.
Every stop carries the risk of coming under attack from drones, so police officers with rifles provide cover for the evacuees at all times.
“Russian forces are intensifying their FPV drone strikes on Kramatorsk and the surrounding area every day. But we keep working—we have to save people,” says “White Angel” Maksym Skazhenikov.
