Representatives of the Vyshnivets community in the Ternopil region and the Hrodiv community in the Donetsk region, as part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities,” made a joint working visit to the Polish city of Kowary (which has been Vyshnivets’ sister city since 2019).

During a meeting with Mayor Elżbieta Zakszewska and representatives of the local government, they discussed issues that are particularly important for Ukrainian communities today: partnership, support, reconstruction, infrastructure development, social protection, and support for children, veterans, and internally displaced persons.

Representatives of the Ukrainian communities had the opportunity to learn about the Polish side’s approaches to regional development, engagement with residents, and the implementation of social and infrastructure projects.

They also discussed the possibility of drafting a memorandum on trilateral cooperation, as well as joint project implementation, cultural and educational exchanges, youth initiatives, tourism development, and participation in grant programs.

Building partnerships today creates opportunities for community development tomorrow.
