The large-scale regional cultural and artistic initiative “Embroidered Donetsk Region – 2026,” dedicated to the 20th anniversary of World Vyshyvanka Day, is confidently entering the home stretch of its creative journey. Behind us lie months of painstaking work: delving into archives, researching the history of the first settlers, and carefully studying the origins of local traditions. All of this has served as the foundation for creating unique original sketches that capture the character and memory of every community in Donetsk Oblast.
Today, this intellectual and research process is taking tangible shape: the communities have begun embroidering shirts. In every stitch lies not only craftsmanship but also a reflection on heritage and its contemporary interpretation. Ornaments born from the fusion of tradition and the present gradually come to life on the fabric, transforming into symbols of living culture. The craftswomen meticulously recreate the techniques, working with texture and volume to convey the concept embedded in the projects as accurately as possible.
This creative process is not merely a technical execution but a responsible artistic mission. Each shirt is a visual code of its region, an artistic testament to its identity, strength, and the continuity of tradition.
Sincere gratitude to the communities for their professionalism, patience, and dedication to the cause. Ahead lies the creation of unique works that will become a worthy symbol of Donetsk Oblast.
