The topic of reintegrating veterans into the labor market was the focus of an online meeting with employers and representatives of human resources departments in the Donetsk region, held on June 26 by specialists from the Donetsk Regional Employment Center. The event was attended by business representatives and HR managers who are looking for personnel and are interested in attracting motivated employees.
The specialists provided explanations regarding the status of veterans and the specifics of their employment. The difficulties that both veterans and employers may face were discussed, as well as ways to overcome them. The discussion focused on how to adapt the skills acquired during military service to the civilian labor market. Participants were also told how to establish effective communication during interviews, maintain mental balance, and support a person at the start of their job.
A separate part of the event was devoted to state support programs implemented with the assistance of the employment service. In particular, employers can take advantage of compensation for hiring veterans and create a barrier-free working environment, etc. Those present were also informed about the possibility of participating in the state program “Own Business,” which provides microgrants for starting or developing a business.
The event took the form of an open dialogue, where everyone could ask questions and receive professional answers. This initiative was another step towards establishing cooperation between the employment service and employers on the reintegration of veterans, and also demonstrated the willingness of businesses to support those returning to civilian life.
