How is the evacuation proceeding in Donetsk Oblast?

More than 200,000 children have left the Donetsk region since the evacuation was announced in 2022. A total of 12,770 children remain in the territory of Donetsk region controlled by the Ukrainian authorities.

The progress of the evacuation in Donetsk region was discussed during a traditional briefing at the regional state administration with the participation of representatives of the Department of Civil Protection, Mobilization and Defense Work, and the Service for Children's Affairs.

As of November 25, 2025, 196,800 residents remain in the territory of Donetsk region controlled by the Ukrainian government. This was reported by Dmytro Petlin, head of the department of operational duty service, communications, alerting and informing the population of the Department of Civil Protection, Mobilization and Defense Work. There are 14,400 residents remaining in communities recognized as active combat zones.

Over the past week, 900 people have left the region. There are currently about 1,250 residents living in Pokrovsk, and three people were evacuated from there over the course of the week. In recent days, evacuation from Kostiantynivka has become significantly more difficult. Currently, about 4,500 people remain there, and 300 residents were evacuated from there during the week.

Over the course of a week, 246 evacuees from Donetsk were transported out of the region by train or bus via transit points.

There are 457 children remaining in two settlements where the forced evacuation of families with children has been announced. This was reported by Yulia Ryzhakova, head of the Children's Affairs Service. There are 453 children living in Druzhkivka and 4 children in the village of Komyshuvakha in the Kramatorsk community.

Over the past week, 61 children were evacuated from settlements where the forced evacuation of families with children was announced. Three children were taken from the village of Zavido-Kudasheve in the Kryvyi Rih community, 45 children from the city of Druzhkivka, and 13 children from the village of Komyshuvakha.

In total, over the past week, 300 children from Donetsk region were forced to leave their usual place of residence, added Dmytro Petlin.
