There are still 115,000 residents living in the part of the Donetsk region controlled by the Ukrainian authorities. Of these, 6,176 are children.
The progress of the evacuation in the Donetsk region was discussed during the regular briefing at the regional state administration, attended by representatives of the Department for Civil Protection, Mobilisation and Defence, the Children’s Services Department and the Department for Social Protection of the Population.
As of 4 July, 118 minors remain in 16 settlements across four communities where the forced evacuation of families with children is ongoing. In the town of Mykolaivka, there are two children from a family whose whereabouts cannot be established.
Over the past week, 52 children have been evacuated from the area where families with children are being forcibly evacuated. A total of 285 children have been evacuated in July. There have been no cases of forced evacuation of children without their parents or legal guardians in the Donetsk region.
The active resettlement of Donetsk residents to safer regions of Ukraine is continuing. In July, 315 evacuated residents of the Donetsk region were resettled across 16 regions. In the first five days of August, 79 people were transported and resettled free of charge.
