The final round of the "DreamECO" International Environmental Science Project Olympiad, organized by the National Ecological and Naturalistic Center for Schoolchildren of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in collaboration with its partners, was held in Kyiv. Based on the results of the qualifying round, approximately 150 individual and team projects were selected to participate.
The final stage of the Olympiad was held in a hybrid format and served as an important platform for supporting young researchers working on pressing issues related to environmental conservation, the development of green technologies, and environmental safety.
Participants presented their work in seven thematic categories: “Environmental Quality,” “Ecology and Biodiversity,” “Resources and Energy,” “My City,” “Human Ecology and Health,” “Eco-volunteering and Community Initiatives,” “Eco-design and Green Architecture.”
Participants from Donetsk Oblast became winners of the final stage and received:
* Second-degree diploma and silver medal – Yaroslav Belykh (Academic Secondary School, Kramatorsk) for the project “Biological Strategies of Adaptive Greening as the Foundation of Ecological Sustainability in a Modern City”;
* Third-degree diploma and bronze medal – Veronika Verikh (Donetsk Regional Center for Ecological Education, Kostiantynivka Secondary School No. 5) for the project “Possibilities and Prospects for the Use of Polysaccharides as Adsorbents of Phenolic Compounds in an Aqueous Environment.”
