From June 19 to 22, 2026, Ukraine’s U-16 and U-18 rugby sevens teams participated in the United World Games international tournament, which took place in Klagenfurt, Austria.
The competition brought together more than 8,000 athletes from about 30 countries around the world.
The Ukrainian U-18 junior national team included Kirill Bezborodov and Bogdan Bulgakov, students at the Pokrovsk Children’s and Youth Sports School. The athletes are coached by Ihor Yurkin.
Throughout the tournament, the Ukrainian U-18 team played with confidence and secured five victories on their way to the final. In the decisive match, the Ukrainian team defeated the Lithuanian team Sporto Gimnazija “Vairas” with a score of 36–7.
At the end of the competition, the Ukrainian national team scored 269 points and emerged as the winner of the 2026 United World Games, claiming the gold medals at the international tournament.
