In June, a mandatory evacuation of children was ordered from Malotaranivka, Pryvillia, part of the village of Bilenke, and certain streets in Kramatorsk. Among the first to leave were three families with children aged 2 to 16. During the evacuation, the “White Angels” protected people from attacks by drones circling overhead.
The distance from here to the front line ranges from 13 to 22 km. The enemy is shelling populated areas with guided bombs and drones; any vehicle is a target.
On the police side, “White Angel” crews, juvenile inspectors, and Kramatorsk police officers have been deployed for the evacuation. The police officers’ task is to safely transport families out of the line of fire and hand them over to the services organizing further assistance and housing.
“We’re leaving for good,” says a mother of three boys from Malotaranivka. Due to the constant shelling, the children didn’t leave the yard, and the adults worried about their lives every second. The middle son, 8-year-old Mykyta, is already dreaming about what life will be like in the new place: “If there’s a river there, we’ll go fishing.”
Another large family is evacuating with them: a couple and their four children. While they still can, people are taking as many belongings as possible with them. To make sure everything fits, the police and volunteers brought several cars.
The “White Angels” evacuated a mother and her two teenage children from Krasnotorka. They are leaving for the private sector following the overnight arrival of the KABs.
Another 134 families, including 144 children, need to be evacuated from certain areas of the Kramatorsk community.
“We are working with residents, explaining the need for evacuation, the conditions for departure, and the assistance available from the government,” says Volodymyr Koval, head of the Prevention Department at the Kramatorsk District Police Department.
