Starting from July 1, the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine is implementing reforms in the field of social protection of the population regarding the appointment and payment of certain types of state assistance.
The powers to accept, appoint, and pay state social assistance to persons who are not entitled to a pension, and persons with disabilities, state social assistance for care, state social assistance to persons with disabilities from childhood and children with disabilities are being transferred to the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
On June 11, the government adopted the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine "Some issues of providing certain types of state social assistance by the Pension Fund of Ukraine".
Note! Only the provider of state social assistance to certain categories of the population is changing. The conditions for appointment and the amounts of the specified types of assistance remain unchanged.
To apply for state social assistance for persons who are not entitled to a pension, and persons with disabilities, state social assistance for care, state social assistance to persons with disabilities from childhood and children with disabilities, one should now contact the territorial bodies of the Pension Fund of Ukraine regardless of the registered/declared place of residence of the applicant. This can also be done by postal communication or electronically through the web portal of electronic services of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, the mobile application of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (if technically possible), or the Unified State Web Portal of Electronic Services.
Applications with the necessary documents and/or information are also still accepted by authorized officials of executive bodies and officials of administrative service centers. After the application with the necessary documents and/or information is accepted, an electronic case is formed, which is sent to the Pension Fund of Ukraine no later than the next working day.
Starting from July of this year, the territorial bodies of the Pension Fund of Ukraine are expected to issue certificates confirming the appointment of state social assistance to persons who are not entitled to a pension, and persons with disabilities, state social assistance for care, state social assistance to persons with disabilities from childhood and children with disabilities.
