Special police units, together with the State Emergency Service, rescued two families with three minors—two 13-year-old girls and a 14-year-old boy—from under fire. Every day, risking their lives, police officers check the addresses where families with children live to make sure that the children have been taken out of the danger zone.
Due to its proximity to the front line, the forced evacuation of families with children continues in Druzhkivka. This time, two White Angel police crews worked simultaneously in the city, one of them together with State Emergency Service rescuers.
Many families have already left because the city is under constant attack by enemy troops, and the situation with electricity, gas, and water is extremely difficult.
"It's very scary right now. We hoped for the best. While the city was still bustling with life in the summer, it is now dangerous here. The children themselves want to leave," says the mother of 13-year-old Varvara and 14-year-old Kirill.
Both families took their pets—cats—with them.
During the evacuation, police spotted a drone with a combat charge overhead, but managed to safely deliver the people to the agreed location. Volunteers will help the families reach safer regions of Ukraine.
