The Donetsk Regional Military Administration, alongside the Memorial: Killed by Russia (Меморіал: вбиті росією) platform, honored 34-year-old Mariupol resident Vasyl Nahornyi, who was killed during a Russian bombardment of Mariupol on March 15, 2022.
Born and raised in Mariupol, Vasyl attended local School No. 18.
Served as head chef at the "CrazyMaam" restaurant in Mariupol.
Friends and colleagues remembered him as the heart and soul of the restaurant, describing him as a natural leader, hospitality icon, and true professional known for his warmth and open nature.
March 15, 2022. Killed on impact during a heavy Russian airstrike/bombardment in Mariupol. His wife and daughter sustained injuries during the attack but survived.
Vasyl Nahornyi is survived by his wife and daughter.
