Behind every victory, every kilometer reclaimed, and every quiet dawn stands a specific person—a hero who, just yesterday, lived among us, studied, worked, and dreamed, and today, with a weapon in hand, is defending our independence.
This very idea was the focus of the interactive online stream “Living Stories: Defense Is People,” held in honor of Ukraine’s Defenders’ Day as part of the “Side by Side: United Communities” project.
The event brought together students from the Siverska, Dubrynytska, and Olhopil communities. Despite the distance between the regions, the meeting became a space for lively dialogue, remembrance, and sincerity.
A key moment was the “Wave of Gratitude” initiative, during which students shared stories of their fellow countrymen who stood up to defend their homeland, expressed words of support for the defenders, and honored the memory of those who gave their lives for freedom.
The event proved once again that the unity of Ukrainians is forged through shared memory and mutual support. When children from the east, west, and center of the country come together in a shared spirit of gratitude, they create a strong rear for our soldiers.
“We remember. We are grateful. We stand shoulder to shoulder for Ukraine!”—these words became the main message of the gathering. As long as memory and solidarity endure, Ukraine remains unbreakable.
