19-year-old Oleksandra Hetta was killed on September 20, 2023, in Toretsk. Russian forces shelled the city and its outskirts with mortars. Oleksandra's boyfriend, Vladyslav Saltanov, was also killed in the attack.
The couple was inside a private house in the Fomikha neighborhood at the time of the shelling. Two more people sustained fatal injuries on one of the streets in the settlement of Pivnichne.
Oleksandra was born and raised in Toretsk, where she graduated from School No. 5. She is remembered as a cheerful, kind, and sociable young woman who loved spending time with her friends.
"She was a cheerful, incredibly kind, and bright person," her friend Yana recalled.
Oleksandra Hetta is survived by her mother, grandmother, grandfather, and other relatives.
