Nationwide minute of silence

Published 07 February 2026 year, 09:00

66-year-old Liudmyla Zubkova was killed on September 9, 2025, in the village of Yarova, Kramatorsk district. She was waiting to receive her pension in the village center when Russian forces struck the civilians with an aerial bomb.

Liudmyla was born in Sviatohirsk. After getting married, she moved to Yarova. She spent most of her life working as an optical technician in Sviatohirsk.

That morning, Liudmyla went to collect the pension for herself and her husband—it was being distributed by a mobile Ukrposhta unit. At around 10:40 a.m., a Russian aerial bomb hit the line of people in the center of the village.

“When we arrived, there were bodies all around. My mother was lying under a fir tree,” her daughter Anna recalls. She says her mother did not like to talk about the war and always lived with hope. In their last conversation, she dreamed of going to the sea with her family after the victory—she had never seen it in her life.

Liudmyla Zubkova is survived by her husband, two daughters, four grandchildren, her sister, and other relatives.

At 9:00 a.m. — a nationwide minute of silence. The Donetsk Regional Military Administration and the Memorial platform “Killed by Russia” honor the residents of Donetsk region murdered by Russians.
