Private Roman Tolmachov was killed on December 1, 2023, in battle near the village of Dibrova in Luhansk region. The defender was 25 years old.
Roman was born on January 9, 1998, in Sloviansk. He studied at Secondary School No. 9. He graduated from the Sloviansk Vocational Railway Transport Lyceum, where he trained as a cook-confectioner. He worked at a car service center. Roman intended to enroll at the Hetman Petro Sahaidachny National Army Academy in Lviv but did not manage to pass the medical examination in time.
In 2023, Roman volunteered to go to the front. He served as a rifleman and assistant grenadier in the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade.
“Roman was kind, compassionate, and responsible. He was always ready to share his last and never refused to help anyone. He loved animals, as well as repairing cars and bicycles,” said his mother, Olha.
Roman Tolmachov was laid to rest in Sloviansk at the cemetery on Danylo Halytskyi Street.
