Soldier Serhii Ivanov was killed on March 10, 2024, as a result of an enemy drone strike near the village of Oleksandropil in the Ocheretyne Hromada. The defender was 51 years old.
Serhii was born in Sloviansk. He studied at secondary schools No. 10 and No. 5 and was engaged in ceramics making.
When the full-scale Russian invasion began, he immediately volunteered for the front. He served in the ranks of the 109th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade. Serhii was a gunner of an anti-aircraft machine-gun unit in a fire support company.
In September 2023, he was awarded the medal “To the Unbreakable Heroes of the Russo-Ukrainian War” by the All‑Ukrainian Association of Citizens 'Kraiina'.
The defender was laid to rest in the city of Pavlohrad.
He is survived by his son, mother, and sister.
