Nationwide minute of silence

The life of Andrii Deineha was cut short by the shelling of Mariupol on March 19, 2022. His body was found on Azovstalska Street, 101.

“They and his sister Lilia died on the same day, but in different places,” recalls Oleh Humianov, Lilia’s husband and Andrii’s brother-in-law. “Lilia was cooking food over a fire near the house at Morskyi Boulevard, 10 and tried to run into the entrance when a shell hit there. And Andrii’s body was found near the ‘Lime’ store.”

Andrii was 45 years old. He was a native resident of Mariupol and lived in the Livoberezhnyi District of the city. In recent years he worked at the Azovstal Iron and Steel Works in the converter shop as an electrical engineer.

He loved football and was a member of the fan club of FC Shakhtar Donetsk.

Andrii was buried in the area of Vynohradne. He is survived by his daughter and father.

His mother, Liudmyla Petrivna, died in Mariupol a year later after losing both of her children.
