47-year-old Sergeant Maksym Tyutyunnik died on March 14, 2025, during a combat mission near the village of Poltavka, Kostyantynivka District, Donetsk Region, as a result of an enemy air strike.
Maksym was born on June 22, 1977, in Sloviansk. He studied at School No. 5. In 1999, he graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the Donbas State Machine-Building Academy. In 1999-2000, he did his military service in Kyiv. Later, he became an entrepreneur.
With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, Maksym stood up to defend Ukraine, joining the 111th Separate Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He rose through the ranks from gunner to master sergeant. In October 2022, he was seriously wounded near the village of Torske in the Lyman district. After rehabilitation, he returned to service in January 2023. Over the past year, he fought alongside his comrades in the hottest spots of the Donetsk region.
Maksym Tyutyunnik had a medal “For Wounds,” and on March 13, 2025 (the day before his death), the soldier was awarded the Order “For Courage” III degree.
The defender was buried in Kyiv.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, and mother.
At 9:00 a.m., there will be a nationwide minute of silence. The Donetsk Regional State Administration and the Heroes Memorial platform will commemorate the fallen defenders from Donetsk Oblast.
