20-year-old Vladyslav Saltanov was killed on September 20, 2023, in the Donetsk region. In the evening, Russian forces launched a mortar attack on the city of Toretsk and its outskirts. Vladyslav's girlfriend, Oleksandra, was also fatally wounded in the strike.
At the time of the attack, they were inside a private home in the Fomikha neighborhood. Two more people sustained fatal injuries on one of the streets in the settlement of Pivnichne.
Vladyslav Saltanov was born in Toretsk. He studied at the Sloviansk College of the National Aviation University, specializing in computer equipment repair and maintenance. At the time of his death, he was not employed.
He was sociable and loved spending time with his friends. He enjoyed listening to music and watching horror, comedy, and fantasy films.
"Death takes the kindest and best people, and Vlad was exactly that. He always knew how to find a way out of any situation, and you could always count on his help," his friend Oleksandr said.
At 9:00 a.m., Ukraine observes the National Minute of Silence. The Donetsk Regional Military Administration, together with the Memorial: Victims Killed by Russia platform, honors the memory of civilians from the Donetsk region who were killed by Russian aggression.
