Senior soldier Mykhailo Fishman died on May 8, 2025, during a combat mission in the Zaporizhzhia region. The defender was 33 years old.
Mykhailo was born on April 8, 1992, in Sloviansk. He studied at the private school Nadiya. After 11th grade, he went to Israel. At first, he studied, and then he joined the army. After a year and a half, he returned home and enrolled at Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, majoring in cybersecurity and information security. However, after his second year, he left school, returned to Sloviansk, and started working.
Immediately after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, he left for Ternopil. There, he volunteered to join the territorial defense forces. He served as an operator in the radio-electronic warfare unit of the 105th Separate Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He carried out combat missions in the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions. He was wounded during one of the battles. He received a medal for his determination and courage.
The defender was buried in the cemetery of the Slovkurort microdistrict in his hometown.
Mykhailo is survived by his brother and sister.
At 9:00 a.m., there will be a nationwide minute of silence. The Donetsk Regional State Administration and the Heroes Memorial platform will commemorate the fallen defenders from Donetsk region.
