Chief Sergeant Viktor Kurasov was killed on April 23, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia region. He was 54.
Viktor was born on January 19, 1970, in Sloviansk. He graduated from local School No. 15. After completing his compulsory military service, he worked as a crane operator at a factory and later at a poultry farm.
He was a devoted хозяйственник. At home, he maintained greenhouses, bred and raised poultry. He loved flowers, especially roses. He had a deep love for life, people, and Ukraine. He had many friends and was known as a man of honor and integrity. No matter how difficult things were, he never complained.
In the spring of 2022, Viktor was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a mortar commander in the 65th Separate Mechanized Brigade “Velykyi Luh” and fought on the Zaporizhzhia front.
Viktor Kurasov was laid to rest in the city of Talne, Cherkasy region, where his family relocated after the start of the full-scale invasion.
He is survived by his wife and daughter.
