Published 24 August 2026 year, 09:00

Sergeant Maksym Tiutiunnyk, aged 47, was killed on March 14, 2025, during a combat mission near the village of Poltavka in Donetsk Oblast as a result of an enemy airstrike.

Maksym was born on June 22, 1977, in Sloviansk. He studied at School No. 5. In 1999, he graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the Donbas State Engineering Academy. From 1999 to 2000, he completed mandatory military service in Kyiv. Later, he became an entrepreneur.

With the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion, Maksym stood up to defend Ukraine by joining the 111th Separate Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the AFU. He forged his combat path from a gunner crew member to a chief sergeant. In October 2022, he sustained a severe wound near the village of Torske in the Lyman district. Following rehabilitation, he returned to service in January 2023. Over the last year, alongside his brothers-in-arms, he fought in the hottest sectors of Donetsk Oblast.

Maksym Tiutiunnyk held the "For Wounding" medal, and on March 13, 2025 (a day before his death), the warrior was awarded the Order "For Courage," 3rd Class.

The defender was buried in Kyiv.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, and mother.
