Junior Sergeant Serhiy Kravchenko, nicknamed Krava, died on August 5, 2024, in the village of Luhivske, Polohivsky District, Zaporizhzhia Region. He suffered multiple shrapnel wounds during a combat mission. He was 26 years old.
Serhiy was born on June 1, 1998, in the city of Hirnyk and lived in the village of Novomykolaivka, Zaporizhzhia region. He worked at a mine in Pokrovsk. He loved soccer.
After the start of the full-scale war, Serhiy joined the ranks of Ukraine's defenders. He served as a senior rifleman-operator in the 3rd rifle platoon of the 3rd rifle company of the 98th battalion of the 108th separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The defender had the status of a war veteran. He received gratitude for his heroism in confronting the Russian army. Serhiy was posthumously awarded the Star of Honor medal.
The soldier was buried in the city of Novomykolaivka, Zaporizhzhia region.
At 9:00 a.m., a nationwide minute of silence was observed. The Donetsk Regional State Administration and the Heroes Memorial platform commemorated the fallen defenders from Donetsk region.
