Published 26 March 2026 year, 09:00

53-year-old Oleh Didenko was killed on October 11, 2025, in the village of Zarichne, Kramatorsk district, during enemy shelling. His father was also killed that same day.

Oleh was born and lived in Zarichne with his parents and his own family. After the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, his wife and son evacuated, while Oleh stayed behind to care for his parents.

The village had been suffering from constant shelling. On October 11, 2025, Oleh and his parents were at home when a shell struck the house and exploded.

“My husband managed to tell his mother to move behind the wall. Then the explosion happened. My husband and father-in-law were killed on the spot, and my mother-in-law was injured,” said his wife, Olena.

The deceased were buried in the yard, in a single grave. On October 13, Oleh’s mother left Zarichne on foot and reached Lyman, from where she was evacuated to Sloviansk to join her daughter-in-law.

Oleh Didenko worked as a technician at the city gas service. Together with his family, he also grew vegetables.

He is survived by his wife, son, and mother.

At 9:00 a.m., a nationwide minute of silence is observed. The Donetsk Regional Military Administration and the Memorial: Victims of Russia platform honor residents of Donetsk region killed by Russian forces.
