Published 26 April 2026 year, 09:00

Soldier Serhii Lysenko was killed on December 27, 2024, in a battle near Zelene Pole in Kramatorsk district while repelling an enemy assault. He was forever 28.

Serhii was born in Sloviansk. From childhood, he was active in church life and sang in the choir. His family later moved to Oleksandrivka, where he graduated from a lyceum and trained as an electric gas welder. He loved music, played the guitar, sang, and had a close circle of friends.

Later, he lived in Kyiv, working as a builder and рестorer. After the start of the full-scale war, he initially volunteered, and in May 2024 joined the Armed Forces. He served in the 2nd International Legion, consciously choosing the path of a defender.

During his first combat mission near Chasiv Yar, he saved three wounded comrades by providing them with aid.

He was posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage,” 3rd class. He was buried in Sloviansk.

He is survived by his fiancée, parents, brother, sister, and relatives.

At 9:00 a.m., there is a nationwide minute of silence. The Donetsk Regional Military Administration and the “Memorial of Heroes” platform honor the fallen defenders from Donetsk region.
