Sniper Oleksii Boiko was killed on March 5, 2023, during a combat mission near the village of Ocheretyne in Donetsk Oblast. He was 47 years old.
Oleksii was born in the city of Horlivka, where he finished school and later graduated from a trade college. In 2014, when Russian forces occupied his hometown, he moved with his family to Sloviansk. There, he worked in construction and raised two daughters with his wife.
Oleksii was called up for military service in the first days of the full-scale invasion. He became a sniper in a fire support company and defended the country as part of the 109th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade.
He was laid to rest in Kyiv.
Oleksii is survived by his wife and two daughters.
