75-year-old Viktor Didenko was killed on October 11, 2025, in the village of Zarichne, Kramatorsk district, during enemy shelling. On the same day, his son also lost his life.

After the start of the full-scale war, Viktor remained in his hometown of Zarichne with his wife and son. The village suffered from constant Russian shelling. On October 11, 2025, the family was at home when a shell hit the house and exploded.

“My husband managed to tell his mother to move behind the wall. Then the explosion happened. My husband and his father were killed on the spot, and my mother-in-law was injured,” said his daughter-in-law, Olena.

The deceased were buried in the yard, in a single grave. On October 13, Viktor’s wife left Zarichne on foot and reached Lyman, from where she was evacuated to Sloviansk to join her daughter-in-law.

Viktor Didenko was born in Zarichne. He worked as a driver at a collective farm. In his free time, he and his family were engaged in gardening, growing potatoes both for themselves and for sale.

He is survived by his wife, daughter-in-law, and sister.
