Soldier Andriy Fedin died on October 4, 2022, during a combat mission near the village of Kolisnykivka in the Kharkiv region. He suffered fatal blast injuries. The defender was 44 years old.

Andriy was born in the city of Horlivka and lived in Sloviansk. He received his higher education at Donetsk National University, specializing in business economics. He worked for the State Fiscal (Tax) Service of Ukraine. He enjoyed fishing, playing billiards, and outdoor activities.

He began defending his homeland in 2018, fighting against Russian occupiers in the Luhansk region. He served in the Phantom special unit of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, which operated along the line of contact in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

In 2020, Andriy was awarded the rank of colonel of the tax police. In 2021, he completed his service in the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, as it was liquidated, and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine on a contract basis.

During the full-scale invasion, he fought as part of the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Cossack Ataman Ivan Sirko.

The defender was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, III degree. He was also awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of the Sloviansk City Territorial Community.

“My father was a sincere, sensitive, fair, and strong-spirited person. He had high professional qualities and was always ready to help his family and colleagues,” said his daughter Anastasia.

The defender was buried at the Lisovy Cemetery in Kyiv.

Andriy is survived by his wife Natalia, daughter Anastasia, and son Andriy.

At 9:00 a.m., there will be a nationwide minute of silence. The Donetsk Regional State Administration and the Heroes Memorial platform will commemorate the fallen defenders from Donetsk Oblast.
