Nadiia Lomova was killed on April 11, 2023, in Bakhmut, where fierce fighting was underway. She and her family were sheltering in the basement of a nine-story apartment building when a powerful explosion destroyed its first entrance. Her husband, daughter, and young grandson were killed alongside her.
Nadiia was 59 years old. She was born in Bakhmut and worked at the health center of the Non-Ferrous Metals Processing Plant before retiring.
“Nadiia was a wonderful person—kind and caring. She and her husband had a summer cottage where they kept a vegetable garden and grew flowers,” recalled Larisa Aleksiienko, a relative by marriage.
Nadiia is survived by her in-laws.
