National minute of silence

Serhii Bukhtiiarov came under shelling on July 1, 2022, in the yard of his own home on Pidhirna Street in Sloviansk. He sustained shrapnel injuries to the thoracic spine and a spinal cord contusion. As a result, he became a person with a Group I disability. On January 21, 2023, Serhii Bukhtiiarov passed away. He was 52 years old.

Serhii was born and lived in Sloviansk. He studied at Secondary School No. 11 and later attended a vocational school, where he trained as a cook. After serving in the army, he worked as a lathe operator at the AIZ enterprise. For many years, he was involved in ceramics. In recent years, he worked at Rem-Tiazhmash LLC.

Serhii was married twice. He had a son from his first marriage, and in his second marriage he became a stepfather to a daughter. He enjoyed fishing and deeply loved his family and grandchildren.

“He was a decent, hardworking, cheerful man with a good sense of humor,” his wife Svitlana and daughter Vladlena recall.

Serhii was buried at the Northern Cemetery in Sloviansk. He is survived by his son, daughter, and wife.
