Volodymyr Lomov was killed on April 11, 2023, in Bakhmut, where fierce fighting was underway. He and his family were sheltering in the basement of a nine-story apartment building when a powerful explosion destroyed its first entrance. His wife, daughter, and young grandson were killed alongside him.
Volodymyr was 58 years old. He was born in Bakhmut and worked at the Non-Ferrous Metals Processing Plant. After retiring, he continued working until the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
“Volodymyr was a good man—kind and responsible. He and Nadiia had a summer cottage in the city. They kept their own vegetable garden and loved spending time working there,” recalled his relative by marriage, Larysa.
Volodymyr is survived by his in-laws.
