The life of 11-year-old Milana Sokolenko was taken by a Russian airstrike on the city of Sloviansk on the morning of February 10, 2026.
The private home where the family lived was destroyed by a guided aerial bomb. At that moment, Milana and her mother, Maryna, were inside — both were killed.
Milana was born on September 8, 2014, in Kramatorsk. She studied in class 6-A at School No. 12. She was passionate about mathematics, studied English, and, like her mother, enjoyed handicrafts and drawing.
“A bright child who had her whole life ahead of her, filled with dreams and a happy future. We will always remember Milana’s smile, her diligence, and the sincere friendship she shared with those around her,” her teachers and classmates recalled.
Milana and her mother Maryna were buried in the village of Pryhozhe, Barvinkove district.
At 9:00 a.m., a nationwide minute of silence is observed. The Donetsk Regional Military Administration and the Memorial: Victims of Russia platform honor residents of Donetsk region killed by Russian forces.
