Yevа Samofalova was three years old. Her life was taken by a Russian missile that struck her grandmother’s house in the village of Rivne, Donetsk region. Her parents, older brother, cousin, and grandmother were killed alongside her.
"Everyone who was there, except for Yeva, was torn to pieces. The girl’s body was partially intact," said her godmother, Anastasiia Novikova-Mykhailyuk.
Yeva was born in Donetsk region. She lived in Rivne with her parents and brother.
"Her parents adored little Yeva. She always protected her brother, shared her toys and sweets," her godmother recalls.
Due to the full-scale war, the family had relocated to Kyiv, but came back to visit their relatives for the holidays. On January 6, 2024, they came to their grandmother’s home with kutia (a traditional Christmas dish) and holiday greetings. At that moment, a missile struck the house.
Yeva Samofalova is survived by her grandmother, aunt, uncles, and other relatives.
