On January 16, a meeting was held on ensuring the rights and freedoms of internally displaced persons, chaired by Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk.
The event was attended by Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Oleksandr Shevchenko, Head of the Council on Internally Displaced Persons at the Donetsk Regional State Administration, as well as heads of structural units of the Regional State Administration.
During the meeting, participants discussed topical issues of state policy in the field of support for displaced persons. They talked about improving mechanisms for housing provision, social protection, and expanding IDPs' access to state support programs.
Special attention was paid to the construction and reconstruction of housing for displaced persons, as well as the creation of temporary housing funds. They also considered proposals to compensate citizens for the costs of restoring damaged housing that had been repaired at their own expense.
They discussed opportunities to improve IDPs' access to medical services, particularly in healthcare facilities located near transit centers, as well as ensuring equal conditions for relocated medical facilities within the framework of state medical assistance programs.
Separately, they considered problematic issues related to the participation of internally displaced persons in the state program "eOselya," as well as situations related to the lack of reflection of IDP certificates in the "Dія" application, in particular for military personnel.
Following the meeting, further steps were identified to improve support mechanisms for internally displaced persons, taking into account proposals from central and local authorities.
The Donetsk Regional State Administration will continue to work on strengthening social protection, providing housing, and ensuring access to quality medical and social services for internally displaced persons.
