The European Open Para Powerlifting Championships were held in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, bringing together 196 athletes with musculoskeletal disorders from 27 teams.
Representing Donetsk Oblast as part of the Ukrainian national team was Zlata Dyachuk—a Master of Sports of Ukraine, a graduate of the Donetsk Oblast Children’s and Youth Sports School for People with Disabilities, and a representative of the Sloviansk Territorial Community.
In the women’s 79 kg weight class, Zlata took 4th place for the heaviest weight lifted in the bench press—94 kg in the “Best” competition program—and won a bronze medal for the sum of three attempts—184 kg in the “Total” category.
The athlete’s coach is Igor Kotlyarov, Honored Coach of Ukraine and Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine.
