As part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities,” an online bridge event titled “Heroes Among Us: The Unbreakable Spirit of Volunteers Unites Communities!” was held between educational institutions in Donetsk and Cherkasy regions.
During the meeting, students and teachers from the Zvaniv Secondary School (Grades 1–3) joined students and teachers from an educational institution in the Novodmytrivska community of Cherkasy Oblast to share stories about ordinary people living among us who, at a critical moment, stood up to defend Ukraine.
The title of the event, “Heroes Among Us,” serves as a reminder once again: true defenders are our neighbors, medical workers, farmers, teachers, and friends who, following the call of their hearts, traded their peaceful lives for military uniforms.
Participants in the online meeting:
- learned more about the history of the Ukrainian volunteer movement;
- watched interviews with fellow volunteers from their region;
- took part in quizzes and themed activities;
- created “Heart of Gratitude” amulets for our soldiers;
- honored the memory of fallen defenders with a moment of silence.
During the online meeting, the launch of the “Easter Basket” charity initiative for the NRS battalion of the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade was announced.
Only by standing shoulder to shoulder can we build a free, strong, and united future for Ukraine.
