For students from disadvantaged groups at the Toretsk Professional Lyceum, the winter break was an important opportunity for psychosocial relief.

At their relocation site in the village of Torgovitsa, PTU No. 30 in the Kirovograd region, a safe space was created in the dormitory for those most in need of support: orphans, children deprived of parental care, displaced persons, and students with special educational needs.

The purpose of the space is to help teenagers overcome stress, reduce anxiety, and restore their inner resources. The vacation program was aimed at:

  • Social adaptation and overcoming isolation.
  • Emotional stabilization after traumatic events.
  • Developing resilience and independent living skills.

Ordinary everyday things have a therapeutic effect.

Together with teachers, students baked fragrant pies and fried pancakes, as this brings back a sense of stability and comfort. They built an "ice palace" in the fresh air and made bird feeders, caring for nature.

Through interactive games and entertainment, students learned to interact, express emotions, and simply enjoy the moment. This helps restore trust in the world and faith in one's own strength.

Psychosocial support means leisure and a return to a sense of security and human warmth for those who have experienced loss.
