In October, 12 coordinators from nine communities of Donetsk Oblast were involved in the implementation of the social project “Active parks – locations of healthy Ukraine”. They work in different regions of the country, encouraging internally displaced persons from Donetsk region to engage in regular physical activity.
During the month, 159 events were held, with a total reach of 1,909 participants. The program includes various formats designed for people of different ages and fitness levels – exercises and games for children, fitness classes and general physical training programs for adults, mobility and recovery exercises, and breathing practices to stabilize the psycho-emotional state.
The activities of the coordinators are supported by the Donetsk regional center for physical health of population “Sport for all” – reporting, monitoring of contract compliance, and provision of advice and methodological assistance to improve the quality and safety of trainings.
The social project “Active parks – locations of healthy Ukraine” forms a habit of regular physical activity, creates accessible and safe opportunities for trainings, supports the integration of IDPs into local communities, and contributes to strengthening the health of the population.
