Senior Soldier Volodymyr Travnikov was killed on January 21, 2025, in the village of Nadiya, Luhansk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he came under enemy artillery fire. The defender was 36 years old.
Volodymyr was born in the city of Sloviansk, where he attended Secondary School No. 14. After completing the 9th grade, he enrolled at the Kramatorsk Higher Vocational Metallurgical College. He completed his compulsory military service and, after demobilization, earned a higher education degree at the Donbas State Engineering Academy. Volodymyr worked as a production shop foreman at PJSC Energomashspetsstal in Kramatorsk.
Following the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in March 2022, he volunteered to defend his country. Serving with the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade, he fought on the Luhansk front. Since December 2024, he had been an operator in the combat module section of the fire support platoon, mechanized company, mechanized battalion of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade.
“Volodymyr loved active recreation and heartfelt gatherings with family and friends. He was a determined and very fair person,” his wife Tetiana recalled.
Volodymyr’s body was cremated, and his ashes were scattered over the Dnipro River in Kyiv.
He is survived by his wife, son, mother, and sister.
