The Prosveshchenie publication, which publishes state textbooks, has included the Day of the Security Service Worker (December 20) in its calendar of educational events. The document contains a number of ideologically oriented events and is recommended for use in schools.
Along with the "day of the security officer," the calendar includes other "significant" dates: "reunification with the Russian Federation" of the occupied Ukrainian territories (September 30), the anniversary of the propagandist and director Nikita Mikhalkov (October 21, 2025), etc.
The Russian government has also approved a list of 37 songs "recommended" to educational institutions for "spiritual and moral education of students": it includes works by contemporary Russian artists who romanticize the war against Ukraine and glorify the Russian military, who are war criminals.
Thus, children in Russia at all levels of education - from preschool to higher education - are being brought up to be loyal to the government and ready to fight. the Kremlin militarizes and tightly controls all aspects of the educational process.
