The Donetsk Regional Center for Tourism and Local History for Schoolchildren co-organized an indoor orienteering competition held at the “Naukovyi” Lyceum, a municipal educational institution under the Kropyvnytskyi City Council.
Approximately 216 schoolchildren participated in the competition, including children from the Donetsk region who were forced to leave their homes due to the war.
Participants had the opportunity to test their orienteering skills, attentiveness, decision-making speed, and ability to work with a map in confined spaces.
The competition took on special significance thanks to the opportunity it provided for children from different regions to meet, interact, and feel part of a community. Joint sports activities help children adapt to a new environment, forge friendships, and develop team spirit.
Based on the competition results, the top participants received certificates and awards from the organizers.
Orienteering once again brought schoolchildren together around a common cause, providing them with new experiences and positive emotions. The collaboration between educational institutions in the two regions opens up new opportunities for the development of youth tourism and the strengthening of ties between young people in Donetsk and Kirovohrad regions.
