The Kalchitska community hosted its first open clay pigeon shooting tournament, which was memorable for its atmosphere of sporting excitement, friendly competition, genuine emotions, and memorable moments.

The tournament brought together Defenders of Ukraine, veterans, their family members, and residents of local communities in the Donetsk region. On this day, what mattered most was not only the athletic results but also the opportunity to reunite with fellow townspeople whom the war had scattered across different corners of Ukraine. Chatting, supporting one another, and spending time together—these are things that many people who were forced to leave their homes are sorely missing today.

At the start of the event, Volodymyr Matyash, head of the Kalchitska Village Military Administration, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech, wishing the participants accurate shots, fair competition, and excellent results.

An atmosphere of friendly rivalry and genuine sporting enthusiasm reigned at the shooting range prepared for the event. The participants demonstrated accuracy, skill, and composure, and the best results were recognized with well-deserved awards. At the conclusion of the tournament, the winners and runners-up were awarded medals and certificates, as well as commemorative gifts.

The tournament marked an important step in developing the sporting traditions of the Kalchitska community, supporting veteran sports, and maintaining ties among people who, due to the war, found themselves far from home.

The Kalchitska Rural Military Administration extends its gratitude to everyone who helped organize and host the tournament, as well as to the participants and guests for their enthusiasm, support, and the warm atmosphere of the event.

We offer our special respect and gratitude to the defenders of Ukraine who protect our country every day. It is thanks to their courage that we are able to come together, uphold our sporting traditions, and bring people together even in the most difficult times.
