The Ukrainian language is full of interesting facts, and there are many ways to discover them. For example, by solving rebuses, completing brainteasers, or competing in knowledge of grammar rules.
That’s exactly how an educational event was held in Poltava for young residents of Bakhmut and children from displaced families to mark Ukrainian Writing and Language Day.
The program combined games, learning, and creativity. Participants took part in scavenger hunts, learned about the history of our writing system, reviewed grammar rules, and practiced expressing their thoughts correctly and eloquently. During a workshop, they also made patriotic postcards.
The event took place as part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities.” It was jointly organized by the Department of Social Protection of the Poltava City Council, the Bakhmut City Territorial Community, and the International Charitable Organization “SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine.”
For the children, it was an opportunity to spend time together, socialize, test their knowledge, and discover new aspects of the Ukrainian language.
