The latest stage of the “Clean Hearts – Clean Planet” outreach campaign marathon, held as part of World Cleanup Day, took place in Uzhhorod. Among the participants were internally displaced children from the Donetsk region. The event was organized by educators from the Donetsk Regional Ecology and Nature Center in collaboration with AVE Uzhhorod LLC on the grounds of the “eco-island”—an interactive waste-sorting platform.
Participants took part in hands-on activities focused on waste sorting and reusing items: they competed in an eco-relay race, flattened plastic bottles using a special device, and generated energy to charge their phones using a special exercise bike.
During the creative session, the children made eco-pens from recycled paper, drew pictures on wood scraps, and decorated eco-friendly fabric pencil cases.
The event combined physical activity, creativity, and practical environmental skills, demonstrating to the young participants the accessibility and importance of responsible consumption.
The marathon is currently underway, and Dnipro will be the next city to host these environmental activities.
