Specialists from the Department for Interaction with Local Governments and the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of the Regional State Administration held an online event entitled “Equal Opportunities - Shared Responsibility.”
The event was held for representatives of 46 territorial communities in Donetsk Oblast as part of the National Barrier-Free Week, which is taking place in Ukraine.
The National Barrier-Free Week project is being implemented in Ukraine for the first time. It was initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine in cooperation with the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine and the Advisor to the Presidential Commissioner for Barrier-Free Access.
The main goal of the online meeting was to create a culture of barrier-free society through information campaigns, motivation for change, and promotion of equal opportunities for all.
This event was part of the implementation of the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Space until 2030. Barrier-free access is not only a matter of infrastructure, but also of dignity, respect and equal opportunities.
