Vasyl Stus was not just a poet, literary scholar, translator, publicist, and human rights activist; he was an artist of rare talent who chose the path of a fighter and emerged victorious in the struggle against the Soviet regime for national identity, because his works will live forever.
On September 4, we honor the memory of Vasyl Semenovych.
To mark this date, the Donetsk Regional Library for Children announces the regional poetry forum “The Living Fire of Stus's Words” and invites everyone to participate. Terms and conditions of the event – by September 2, send a video of yourself reciting a poem by Vasyl Stus to [email protected].

- When sending your email, be sure to include materials and information about the participant.
- Links to videos will only be accepted from file-sharing sites or YouTube.
The materials will be published from September 4 to 6 on the Facebook page of the Donetsk Regional Library for Children. All participants will receive electronic certificates.
