A mini-football tournament was held in Kryvyi Rih, bringing together athletes from Donetsk Oblast and Kryvyi Rih. Four teams took part in the tournament: teams of veterans and residents of the territorial communities of Donetsk Oblast and Kryvyi Rih.
The competition was organized by the Staromlynivska rural territorial community of Donetsk Oblast and the Kryvyi Rih City Council.
The event was attended by the head of the Mariupol District State Administration, the head of the district military administration Oleksandr Panasenko, the head of the Department for Veterans' Policy of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Artur Nasibyan, and the heads of military administrations of settlements in the Mariupol district.
Oleksandr Panasenko greeted the participants and noted the importance of holding such sporting events, which bring together veterans, internally displaced persons, and become a space for support and unity.
Alona Levterova, head of the Staromlynivska village military administration, emphasized that the tournament is not just a football competition, but an event that unites generations, honors our veterans, and demonstrates the strength of spirit of Ukrainians who, despite the war, remain united, active, and unbreakable.
The Donetsk region footballers showed a brilliant, lightning-fast game. In a fierce battle, the Mariupol district team won the mini-football tournament, demonstrating a high level of training, unity, and determination to win. Second place went to the "Unconquered" team from Kryvyi Rih, and third place went to the team from the Staromlynivska community in Donetsk region. The Kryvyi Rih team "Afghans" finished the competition in fourth place.
Despite the difficult challenges of today, sport remains an integral part of life. Even during wartime, sporting competitions are of particular importance — they become a symbol of the strength, unity, and resilience of our people.
Every match, race, or tournament is proof that life in Ukraine continues, that we are strong and ready to move towards victory despite all the difficulties.
